Maila Alog is an Ibaloy visionary creative by passion and a dedicated Police Officer by profession, based in Baguio City, Philippines. Her journey in fashion began in 2017 with the establishment of Carolina’s Dress Shop—now known as Baguio’s Closet—where she first showcased her original designs and collections.
In 2018, she expanded her enterprise to include costume-making and rentals, further strengthening her entrepreneurial foundation. By 2020, Maila ventured into ready-to-wear fashion, integrating authentic Indigenous tapestries into contemporary silhouettes through her MA79 clothing line—now known as M.A. Woven Designs. Her work directly supports home-based Indigenous weavers and artisans across the Philippines.
An Igorot fashion storyteller, Maila’s designs are deeply rooted in ancestry, identity, and cultural responsibility. She believes her ancestors walk with her in every endeavor—guiding her vision and inspiring a growing community of volunteers and like-minded creatives who help transform Indigenous dreams into tangible, wearable art. She regularly releases new collections through platforms such as IVY Fashion Ball and Habing Katutubo, continuing her advocacy for ethical fashion, cultural preservation, and global Indigenous representation.
