Larapciq Cheri Alstrom is Yup’ik and Swedish from St. Mary’s, Alaska. Her parents are Morris Alstrom from St. Mary’s and Theresa Nick from Pilot Station. Her late grandparents are Fred and Domitilla Alstrom from St. Mary’s and Patrick Nick Sr. and Julia Nick from Pilot Station. Cheri has two lovely children named Aaron and Dahlia. She graduated from Mt. Edgecumbe High School and then the University of Alaska Fairbanks with her bachelor’s degree in Alaska Native Studies with a concentration in Alaska Native Law, Government and Policy. She enjoys running, beading, sewing, Eskimo dancing, family activities, going to church, fishing and berry picking. Cheri currently works as the Tribal Liaison for one of Alaska's federally recognized tribes, and recently started Beaded by Larapciq, which sells beaded earrings, does beading workshop, and printed a book for it.
