Bio: Karonienhawe Diabo - "She Holds the Sky"
Karonienhawe Diabo is the owner and designer of "She Holds the Sky Designs," a name rooted in her Kanienkeha'ka heritage. As a proud bear clan woman from Kahnawake Mohawk Territory and a dedicated single mother of four boys, she blends her cultural identity with contemporary fashion.
Diabo serves as the curator for the Kahnawake Fashion Exhibition and has made her mark on notable platforms, including New York Fashion Week (February 2023) and the Sycuan Fashion Show in San Diego. She has also collaborated with institutions like Cornell University and taught fashion courses at various universities, showcasing her designs in museums and highlighting Indigenous artistry.
