  • JT Willie, a member of the Navajo Nation from the Tábááhá (Edge Water Clan) and born for the Táchííníí (Red Running Into Water Clan), and maternal grandparents are the Ashį́į́hí (Salt People Clan) and paternal grandparents are the Kinyáá’áánii (Towering House Clan). Born and raised in Twin Lakes, New Mexico, he is a full-time artist, carrying forward the traditions of silversmithing (third generation) and beadwork passed down through generations, often combining both mediums in unique, holistic designs inspired by his upbringing on the reservation. His work, created under JT Willie Designs, transforms dreams into vibrant creations for the world to enjoy. JT Willie currently serves as the CEO of the Navajo Arts and Crafts Enterprise, an entity of the Navajo Nation, where he leads initiatives to support Navajo artists, craftspeople, and small businesses, fostering economic prosperity and enhancing the reputation of Navajo art. Formerly, he was the Executive Director of the Navajo Nation Division of Economic Development, where he spearheaded projects to boost tourism and economic development. Recognized by the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development as a 40 Under 40 awardee, he is acknowledged for his impactful work in advancing economic development across Indian Country. Mr. Willie holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of New Mexico and is pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration with a focus on Management. His long-term research examines the business and entrepreneurial practices that affect small business growth on the Navajo Nation, and his professional aspirations include fostering economic development ventures, serving in tribal council leadership, and teaching at the university level to promote economic dialogue beneficial to the Navajo people.
