  • Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, Danica was raised under the neon light of human eccentricity and grit. With a car-salesman father and a bartender mother, life was spent navigating between transient worlds. Although the Las Vegas Strip is a Lego-like parody of the rest of the world, it proves that something more exists far away from the suburban desert. Curiosity coupled with an inner-desire for a more grounded identity led Danica to pursue a degree in International Relations at Boston University. While a student at BU, Danica studied abroad in Cuba and Ecuador where she discovered and later focused her studies on human diplomacy. After college, she turned to documentary filmmaking to further explore her interest in human-centric storytelling that emphasizes individuality against diverse cultural backdrops. Research took her to South America, Europe, South Asia, and Northern Africa where she engaged with locals who invited her into their lives. These immersive experiences led her to discover the soft power of kindness and curiosity are powerful ways to connect and share our stories. Storytelling, therefore, is diplomacy. Danica's work is dedicated to bridging the gaps of miscommunication amongst cultural divides through impactful storytelling that zooms into the lives of those who are "different" in order to give an audience new perspective on what they previously judged or feared.
